During the last missionary trip to Haiti, NACC focused on the health of the church members and more specifically the newly wedded. The medical team established a screening clinic to check vital signs and blood sugar levels. Of the 130 people screened over 60 people presented elevated blood pressure 160/100 or greater . Most of them have not received any medical treatment due to financial difficulties. The situation raised much concerns within the management of NACC How do we help those people? What is the best strategy to help without embracing the cost of a functional ambulatory clinic.   The idea to keep a log of the people screened for hypertension and help them get care from an existing medical clinic appealed to be a good way to help. A contribution of $20.00 a month will support an individual to refill a prescription for blood pressure medication. If you believe this contribution can make a meaningful impact on the life of someone affected by hypertension, the well known silent killer please donate today and adopt an individual with high blood pressure and help alleviate this individual health desperation.
